About Me
SQUO, aka DJSQUO (Steven Quinn), is a musician, DJ, and producer with a diverse background in music. He began playing piano at age 6 and guitar at age 12, and later joined a local punk rock band in high school.
In college at Rutgers University, he co-founded Wild Jokers Radio and Wild Jokers Records with his friend REZ. For around 4 years, Wild Jokers Radio spotlighted local artists from throughout the Tri-state region, and Wild Jokers Records produced and released several local electronic and hip hop artists in their New Jersey studio. During this time SQUO performed at many parties, formal events, clubs, and festivals up and down the east coast.
After nearly 6 years with Wild Jokers, SQUO began a hiatus to focus on using his business degree to enter the workplace. He joined Addison, a prestigious design firm in Manhattan, and continued to develop his creative skills in a new, professional environment. During this quiet time, SQUO never lost his love of music, picking up his guitar, and beginning to hone his guitar skills across many genres.
In 2020, a former bandmate from SQUO’s high school days formed a new band, Human Target. SQUO began to see his music more holistically, and began regaining his inspiration to make music a major part of his lifestyle. In the following years, he became even further inspired by his former bandmate’s creation of Jaul Records and band WolfoxNJ. SQUO began making contributions to production analysis, post-production, and occasionally writing small parts for the band. Simultaneously, another close friend, fellow DJ, and award-winning video producer, Houndcircus, began The Houndcircus Variety Hour, a radio show on Viking 89, 89.1 WWFM-HD3. SQUO jumped at the opportunity to perform on the radio once again and also got the opportunity to contribute 2 pieces and SFX to the score of 6 time award-winning film “Driving B”.
Stay tuned, a brand new SQUO is on the way!
